Making My Own Icy Cold Beauty Popsicles

A couple of days back, I was shopping at Daiso and saw a cute pastel-coloured ice pop maker, bought it (an unintentional purchase though!) came home and played with it ....and  WoOLala... here I have it, my first Icy Cold Beauty Popsicle! - from fresh Orange Juice which is loaded with vitamins. Orange juice is known to contain a high percentage of Vitamin C, which is helpful in boosting the immune system. It also contains Folate, which plays a major role in the reproduction of new skin and blood cells, and can aid in the healing process.

This pure orange popsicle is healthy, low in calories, without added sugar or preservatives as compared to the mass produced ice cream sold at supermarkets.

Interested to make your own Beauty Popsicles too? Very simple to make and these are 2 things you will need...

1) $2 Ice Pop Maker (Reusable) from Daiso (You can also use plastic cups and ice cream sticks)

2) Your Preferred Choice Of Juice(s).. Besides Orange juice, you can use any juices you like or can think of - like cranberry juice, carrot juice, celery juice, mixed fruit juice, watermelon juice, strawberry juice, kiwi juice, apple juice, papaya milk, banana milk, tomato juice, lemon with honey...basically there are endless of choices for everyone. and besides juices, you can even add in small cubes of the fruit itself into the making...

Yes very easy to make without much stuffs needed...
Just 2 tips to share:

  • Try to fill the juice to the brim of each popsicle's compartment so that the frozen ice will sit nicely at the base of the plastic stick when you pull it out.

  • It may be a bit difficult to pull out the frozen ice from the compartment, try to move the stick in left-right movements to loosen the frozen ice before pulling it out. If its still difficult to pull the whole popsicle out from the compartment, pour water to the back of the maker (as shown in the above instructions guide) and try to pull the stick out again.. You should be able to get a nice popsicle shaped like an ice cream as shown in the picture.
Have fun making your own icy cold Beauty Popsicles for yourselves and your loved ones.. Ya, I think the kids will love them too..

I am thinking of making red bean and bandung popsicles next..

So what flavours of popsicles are you thinking of making?

Farmart ( AustWine Wine Bar Cafe) & Gobi

After our dinner at Atlantis Seafood at D'Kranji Farm Resort, Mike suggested a place called farmart ( Ok, another place which I have never been to)

It was around 5-10 minutes drive from D'Kranji Farm Resort to Farmart.. It was also another ulu place in the midst of greenery..

It was around 9pm++ when we reached there, the surroundings were those fish farms, so we were wondering if Farmart was still opened.. ( by the way, Farmart is pretty near to Qian Hu, so can imagine how far it is)

Upon reaching the place, I was amazed.. for that moment, I thought I was in Malaysia, in some sort of their local product store.. but the place was full house, packed with cars... people were indulging in seafood, bbq chicken wings, beer, stingrays etc in the open eating place... ( i was thinking why this ulu place got such good business) ...

But strangely, there is this wine bar cafe called AustWine Wine Bar Cafe just besides this open air eating place.. AustWine Wine Bar Cafe has got indoor and outdoor, and near the entrance, they even wine room filled with different red/white wines, customers can walk in this wine room to choose their wine..

The menu was rather simple, with finger foods, and drinks..We shared the ice cream and finger food.. The finger food came in baskets, and were pretty generous for the price we paid, 3 baskets for $13.95. And all were very hot! and the fries pretty good.

We were given cold water served in recycled wine bottles..

Actually AustWine is quite a nice place to go... it is quite ulu lah, definitely need transport to reach there.. but the food is pretty cheap, no GST, NO service charge.. our bill came up to $29++ for 4 big baskets of finger foods, 1 banana split, 1 bowl of 3 scoop ice creams, and 4 bottles of plain water.. ( for the 9 of us)

Mike had requested that he wanted small cake, so Sulynn and Chandy really bought him small cakes from Gobi at Central... His birthday cake so cute, consider of 12 mini cakes, of course we shared.. each of us like have a mouth of everything.. ( heard from Sulynn that they like only have 12 flavours, so this box like covered all their flavours, they even catered for special occassions such as baby first month etc)

Think Gobi got being featured before on TV.. anyway, out of these 12 mini cakes, what I like was the mini macarons (oppss... haha, although there were 9 of us, I managed to eat 1 of the 4 mini macarons available- in green)- 2nd row, 4th item, actually the 1st row, 3rd item is also a macaron, but it toppled, but the mini macaron tasted better than the big pink macaron.. *strange*

This box of 12 cakes cost around $23++ ( quite a fresh idea for a birthday cake) ..

haha, then they asked me what type of cake I want for my birthday.. I gave them the topic of "interesting cake" haha, mike suggested "small cake" and he got so small cakes.. I wonder what my up-coming birthday cake would be.. they asked me if I want small shou tao or big shou tao ( longevity bun) as my birthday cake.. (haha..)

This is one interesting cake I bought for my mum before... ( a normal tasting cake with a can't bear to eat outlook)

Anyway, happy birthday to Mike and Yuhui... ('',)

I had been having super serious breakouts recently, like over 10 pimples popping out..( think heaty food + that day of the month coming that made my skin so worst!! think the MOST MOST WORST SKIN I have in these few years) Think I consumed 80% of the box of 500g Oreo cereals.. and at least 70% of the big bag of DIY popcorns in just a few days.. ( Sometimes I wonder why I cannot control my mouth!!!!)

These popcorns quite nice.. next time I am going to try honey/caramel flavour... this one taste like the salted popcorns that GV is selling.

Salute Brand Premium Tea

last week, I went to my best friend's house and she made me a cup of tea using this packet of Salute Brand Premium 2 in 1 red tea.. and gosh, it was ultra smooth and the sweetness is just nice..

Ling's father told me that he bought back from Penang, he said KL also dont have... and he told me this week he will be going to Penang, so I asked him helped me buy back one packet.

I think which amuse me was its actually 2-in-1 tea-O, but maybe its red tea, so it was very smooth, something like the red tea of bubble red tea.. and Salute brand also have a range of packet beverages, such as kopi-O without sugar... I am a tea lover, so this tea suit me, I even find it much better than the boh-tea and lipton which are not smooth compared to this Salute brand red tea.

So if you see this Salute brand 2 in 1 tea, do buy a packet to try and be WOW by its ultra smoothness that you can even make it just by pouring hot water in a cup...

Or if you know anywhere in Singapore or anywhere in Johor Bahru which sell this, do let me know too... Cheers...

Bamboo Charcoal Bread ( Black Bread from Lavender)

Special mention to this interesting black bread.. The past 1-2 years I went inside JB City Square, I always come across this black bread at Lavenders cakeshop, but I really dont have the courage to try.. I wonder what the taste would be like .. but last week, I asked the staff whether the bread will be bitter.. She said its sweet and actually helps in digestion.. so I bought a packet which consists of 3 slices (RM3.50) .. and to my surprise, this black bread is really sweet and ultra soft... so dont be fool by its blackish appearance...

If you go to City Square, can buy a packet of bread to try.. they only have in one packaging, which is 3 slices per pack.

These Are So Colorful and So Cute.....

Recently Soh Ee's friend gave her these little food from Thailand so she gave us some - 12 little mini fruits!!! .. I had eaten these before but they were not so nice..... these were nicer, one is only the size of a cherry.. so its very small, and the inside which is grinded green bean paste is just nice, not too sweet, and the skin is super super thin, there is actually an ultra thin layer of jelly like on the most outer layer, which give it a shine..

the leaves are inedible though..

Nice nice..

Cutting the pumpkin into halves:

The yellow layer ( 2nd outer layer) and jelly-like layer (outer most layer) are so thin.

the outer most layer ( jelly like) is so so thin that its sort of transparent.

I wonder if the process of making these little snacks is tedious???

Biggest Pau I have Eaten In My Life

1st January 2009 - The beginning of a brand New Year .. A Very Happy New Year to everyone...

Well, this afternoon I asked my dear to bring me to Elias Mall so that I can buy Godzilla pau.. ( i saw ieatishootipost blog about this ultra cup E size pau .. how big can this pau be..

haha, it was pretty easy to locate this shop, its at Blk 623, CG food court.. and the name of the shop is called Godzilla hand made pau .. and I bought 2 ... it was $3.80 for 1.. I bought one hot and one cold .. the cold one I will da bao home for my mum and brother .. while the hot one, we ate in the car..it was pretty difficult to eat in the car as it was a very big pau, I had to use my 2 hands.. its liek quite messy because the ingredients also dropped off.. haha.. inside the big pau, there was meat, mushrooms, chinese sausages, eggs, salted egg yolk, white radish which at first i thought was fat... actually i dont find that it taste very nice.. its quite normal.. just that its the biggest pau I have eaten in my life.. ( its 19cm in diameter.. can imagine how big it is !!)

I guess if 1 person was to eat the whole pau, surely will be very full and even gelat... but this big size pau sure can scare or amuse your friends.. when I brought home and showed to my mum.. her first reaction was " WOW, such a big pau!" haha...

I bought this cake for around $55 in 2006 but now the price like doubled.. think their business must have increased alot after being featured on straits times and HDB tai tai...
Oopppss... this nice birthday cake being cut up .. and this is how the inside look like...oh ya.. everything that you see are edible except the ribbon on the brim of the cup... the 2 packet of chilli sauce also can eat.. the fries and the straw are biscuits...
Its really a nice cake... they even have 2 piece chicken meal ..but mine is burger meal..haha
