Watched this movie on valentine day at our usual spot, if not for the commercial that I had watched last week at the same cinema, I would not have thought of watching it... But because the tag line of the commerical say: : A feel good movie of the decade" that enticed me to watch the movie...
Slumdog Millionaire is quite a nice movie. About the story of 3 children - Salim, Jamal, Latikah.. I find the children played well in their roles too...( the boy who played Jamal when he was still a kid was very cute, the part when he jumped into a pool of shit to see his idol and the part when he asked money from the bad guy who asked him to sing professionally was also funny) The part where a metal spoon of liquid was poured into the child's eyes was very painful.. i guessed its really such a practice in India to make the children go blind and beg for money.. so sad... Oh the last part was quite interesting, I was expected that Latikah know the answer so she rushed to answer the call, there was some unexpected twist towards in the end.
Although there are no famous actor/actresses, it is still a good movie, worth watching.. GV MAX was full house on Sat 9pm show... even the first row sides were seated...
by the way, 20 million rupees is around SG$615,000 ...
I will rate it a 7.9 out of 10. It is really worth a watch for something different.
