Not sure if you have seen these latest Mentholatum lip balms at Watsons recently but this is my first time seeing them.Special thanks to The Sample Store ( formerly known as fr3b) for sending me these products for trial .. Don't they look cute? ( I mean the packaging, especially the fruit range lip balms)

My thoughts:

I have to admit I am attracted to Mogitate Kajitsu's vibrant and colorful packaging. Incorporating the most interesting yet most common ingredients like the fresh fruit juice and honey in a lipbalm is the first time I have come across. I find that it applies smoothly on my lips before giving the greasy or waxy after feel. My lips feel moisturised. For the Orange & Mango Flavour I am using, it smellls more of orange when I applied onto my lips.. did not really smell the mango and honey though.. it leaves a slightly minty after feel which will be gone in a while. One plus thing about the Mogitate Kajitsu range is the lipbalms contain UV protection.. now our lips also can be protected against harmful UV rays.

On the other hand, the Deep Moist lip balms come in an innovative oval-shaped tube design that fits the corner of the mouth well and makes it easy to apply with a single swipe. This is my first time seeing Hyaluronic Acid being used in lip balms as it is the key ingredient used in a few of the latest skincare brands, to make skin more moisturised..but I did not expect it to be found in lipcare products as well. Deep Moist Lip Balm is fragrance free and also did not leave any greasy or waxy after feel. Lips feel more hydrated after application.

Overall, I find Mentholatum latest lip balms rather innovative in terms of packaging as well as the key ingredients that go into the making the lip balms... They are also reasonably priced and give pretty good results.

Review: Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Range

Does this look familiar to you?? yes, by now, you should be able to see Hada Labo products available at almost all Watsons islandwide.

A couple of weeks back, I was privileged to receive 3 full size products from the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Range to try ... pretty excited since the best seller product -> The Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising Lotion which has a sale record of 1 bottle being sold every 4 seconds.(Which works out to be 900 bottles sold every 1 hour!!!)

So here goes the product information and my reviews of the 3 products that I received:

  

These are the 5 products in the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Range...

and I will be touching on the first 3 steps...

First of all, you must be thinking what makes Hada Labo Hydrating range so unique.. its because it contains Super Hyaluronic Acid, and advanced skin hydrating ingredient, which retains twice the moisture of Hyaluronic Acid.. it leaves the skin surface lastingly hydrated, softer and more supple. PLUS its products are all free of fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and colorant.

Step 1: Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Face Wash ($12.90/100g)

Product description:
Hydrates as it cleanses. Helps restore and preserve skin's natural moisture, leaving it silky smooth.

This is the amount of cleanser I use..

Add some water and lather it into foam.. It lathers pretty fast, to create foamy & fluffy foam in an instance.. so just use gentle circular motions to wash your whole face before rinsing thoroughly with water. Result is clean skin, without any tightness.

Step 2: Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising Lotion ($22.90/170ml)

Product Descriptions:

• Instantly hydrates skin and helps preserve its optimum moisture balance.
• Replenishes and locks-in moisture for complete hydration.
• Helps improve dry and dehydrated skin, leaving it silky smooth.

2 drops of Hada Labo Hydrating Lotion is all I need for my whole face.. (which means 1 whole bottle can last a long time) This lotion acts like a toner.. the texture is rather watery with a bit of stickness to it..

Next, the most important step is to gently pat the lotion onto skin until the lotion until its fully absorbed.. I tried patting on for 2-3 minutes, but I find that its still abit sticky on the surface after I pat in the lotion as per directed...  However, I read reviews saying that the lotion absorbed into their skin very fast and leave a smooth finish.. Think my skin is quite different from the rest..

3) Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid ($30.90/30g)

Product Descriptions:

• Provides deep hydration with a high concentration of Super Hyaluronic Acid
• Intensely boosts and optimizes skin's hydration level
• Skin appears visibly smooth, luminous and healthy
• Skin PH balanced, low irritation

Just 1 pump is enough for the whole face.. It is gel-like and is slightly more sticky than lotion. but as soon as it is being pat into skin, it turn more watery and melts into skin, but leaving a thin film of product on my skin. (still abit sticky though)

My Likes about the Hada Labo products:

• They are all free of fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and colorants.
• They are made in Japan.
• A little product is required per application/use.. so a little goes a long way.
• They are pretty affordable and easily available.

But its a pity that the products do not suit my skin type ( sensitive, acne-prone and combination) because the very next day (after I used the above 3-step Hada Labo regime), I have got breakouts, 3 pimples just popped out overnight..:(  Why so many people have got good results except me??? There are many cotters who reported very satisfying results.. Do not understand why a product that is free of fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol and colorants can cause breakout to my skins.. Could the products be to rich for my skin type??

I feedbacked my concerns and I was told that I was one of the very rare cases with a bad experience after using Hada Labo products. I was told that the essence is about 3X richer than the lotion.. (so its the essence that is too rich for me??) Maybe I should just use Hada Labo hydrating wash follow by Hada labo Hydrating lotion or only incorporate the essence into my regime once or twice a week, as a booster.. since its 3X richer than the lotion.

Personal Comments: 

Out of the 3 Dejavu products that I tested, I like Dejavu Fiberwig Extra Long Mascara the most, think because I am used to Dejavu Fiberwig 1st version since I am using now.. The newly curved brush applicator makes applicator easier too... There is one thing I like about Dejavu mascaras is they really do not smudge our eyes, no more panda eyes effect.. thanks to the special formula that forms a smooth film coating on my lashes, that resists rubbing and skin oil all day long. Oppss, all along I using my Dejavu Fiberwig, I did not know that the mascara can be removed using warm water, until I attended the workshop.. Yes, one plus point about Dejavu mascaras is its easily removable using warm water, the cheapest  and most natural eye makeup remover one can  ever find!!! ('',)

As for Dejavu Lasting Fine Eye Liner, I like that it is rub resistant.. However, I find it a bit difficult to draw on my own eyes ... I guess its my awful skill + my eyelids are too dry. that I encountered such problem..because other bloggers easily drew very nice, smooth yet defined lines that instantly brightened their eyes..

Mentholatum LipBalm Fun Focus Group

9th November 2009 - I was selected to participate in a Focus Group for Mentholatum LipCare products .. The venue was at The Rose Veranda at Shangri-la Hotel. We got to enjoy the hi-tea spread while sharing our experiences and thoughts of our lipcare products...

What amazed me was there was a selection of 102 kind of teas... I met Samantha there, and we shared our teas so I got to try 4 kinds.. my first choice was Shangri-la ( pineapple, kiwi and plum), we also tried Irish Whiskey-Cream.. Personally I find the tea taste is still there, just a tinge of other flavour(s) present.

Mini Review for Liese Bubble Hair Color (Glossy Brown)

My brother just dyed his hair using Liese Bubble hair color in Glossy Brown.. well, his hair is so short, so I used the remaining bottle since my hair so fine and little...

Actually I was quite skeptical to use this hair dye after seeing fellow cotters having quite obvious change in the hair color after using the product, plus Tiphanie said she now like top look brighter than bottom.. Gosh... Scared scared right!!!

I did follow the instructions, I left it for around 20mins...( I also don't dare to put too long, because I afraid the color change too drastic and uneven.. Fearing that there may be patches of uneven color, I did a stupid thing, after massaging the hair color wearing gloves.. I removed them and use my bare hands and comb to brush through my hair length.. I just so afraid of patchiness... ( I was thinking since the product already touching my scalp, it should be safe on bare hands for less than 4 minutes) .. can someone enlighten me on the dangers of using bare hands to touch this DIY hair dye???

Product: Liese Bubble Hair Color ( Glossy Brown)

Smell: At first when my brother was using, I cannot smell anything..but when its mine turn to use, there is this strong ammonia smell, really strong..

Ease of Use: We were trying to pump the bottle to get the foam out ..but nothing came out.. but later we figured out we need to squeeze the bottle and the foam will be pumped out... then we just apply onto our hair like the way we shampoo... ( thinking that it wont drip, I actually did it wearing my t-shirt and walking around and sitting down to watch TV with my bubble hair dye on my hair...) its not drip proof.. I stained my clothes a little.. ( should have done it before my bath, and not after.. and I should have done it in the bathroom)

Time: It stated 20-30 minutes for hair and I left it on for 20mins.. I don't dare to put longer time.. because I really kiasi... ( my brother put it on for more than 30mins before watching off, his color is more obvious than mine)

After Effect: Not really drastically difference.. but I can see my hair being a lighter shade of brown.. Look like the top part is still brighter than the bottom despite me starting from the bottom.. but as I was wearing shirt, the moment I put on the ends, I push my hair up... )

Conclusion: I think have to be careful when using this product, do it in the bathroom before taking a shower, so that wont be like me, stained my clothes.. Be warned of the strong ammonia smell though... I think to play safe, got to brush through the product after using so that there wont be patchiness... My hair still the same, did not become drier, so this product wont dry our hair... I think this product should be quite good if its able to dye our hair evenly from top to bottom... ( but I think for the kiasi me, Loreal Casting Creme Gloss Hair dye without ammonia maybe a better choice, since the color fades off in 48 washes) .. but heard Liese Bubble hair color will make our hair getting lighter as we wash our hair everyday..

My mum just commented that there is not much difference in my hair color.. ( so I think for my case, the hair dye color not that drastic change on me)
