A Movie Date With Kiehl's ..and Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate

Last Friday (25/6/2010), I went to an exclusive Kiehl's movie date with Rachel to watch Knight and Day starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz... I saw Shirleen at the event ... and so coincidence that she was just seated next to me in the theatre.

Plus we got the chance to try out the latest Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate which will be launching this coming July... The movie Knight and Day was chosen because it sort of coincide with Kiehl's most recent launched day product ( Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF50+++ suncreen) and the upcoming Kiehl's night product ( Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate).. Kudos to Kiehl's marketing team for coming up with such a brillant way to promote their Night and Day products at the same time.

Each of the invited guests was given a goodie bag which consists of Kiehl's midnight recovery concentrate and ultra light daily UV defense SPF50+++ sunscreen samples, a drink and a packet of yummy sweet popcorns... but I got an additional surprise - A full size midnight recovery concentrate! (which will only be for sale from July onwards in Singapore..Yipee!!) 

and..... I just discovered an interesting item in my press kit..

When Melissa passed me the press kit, she told me there were also photographs in it .. Firstly, I opened up the CD on the left, and found photographs for Kiehl's midnight recovery concentrate in it, so I proceeded to open the next CD .. and I was shocked to see that its an empty disc.. (an empty audio disc) ... I doubt Melissa will give me an empty disc, LOL! ..so after trying out for about a minute, I suddenly heard some music..  and then saw my music playlist displaying 17 tracks... its actually an audio disc, and a perfectly working one  (Ok, I admit I very blur, don't even know the proper way to open a disc)

Then I took the CD cover and saw a piece of paper at the back..

Yes, the CD actually contains 17 songs titles relating to sleeping, dreaming, midnight, night.. ( I read the press kit before I opened the 2 CDs... so I know the reason why it was given to us).. I was impressed by the Kiehl's team to even think of including this nice and meaningful disc in the press kit for us... It will be specially useful for me, a midnight owl ..to help me to fall asleep easier and earlier... Know why???

Shelf-Life for Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate? 

Despite being paraben free, Kiehl's midnight recovery concentrate contains no water and artificial preservatives thus it is able to preserve iteself. It has a shelf-life of 18 months once you open the bottle. A bottle should be able to last a long time since 2-3 drops is all you need every night.

Kiehl's Ultra Light Brunch Party At New Majestic Hotel

I was very honored and lucky to be invited to the Kiehl's Ultra Light Brunch Party held at New Majestic Party on 20th March 2010.

Just before I reached the hotel, I saw a good looking guy who was wearing Kiehl's shirt,waiting at the lobby. He introduced himself (Tommy) and showed me the way up to the venue of Kiehl's Ultra Light Brunch Party to meet the Kiehl's team and other bloggers.

^Here's beautiful Michelle (in white top) chit chatting with us.... She is super comical and friendly, plus she has very good skin and healthy hair.. ( As I was just sitting next to her, half of the time I was laughing to her jokes, and half of the time I was admiring her skin. It must be the results of using Kiehl's products diligently for years). I wish my skin will be as good as hers too.....

Michelle shared with us the background of Kiehl's, how the Kiehl's boy came about and the community involvement of Kiehl's (Although we seldom see Kiehl's advertisements on newspapers and magazines, Kiehl's has long held impassioned commitment to raising awareness for our environment through the communities in which we work. It's Kiehl's tradition of doing their part and giving to the society)

^ Indulging in a spread of sumptuous food while we were watching a short Kiehl's video clip.. ( Think we were pretty engrossed in the video clip.. and I remember catching a glimpse of Kiehl's mascara in the clip.. dont think we have that in Singapore right?)

(So creative!)

^ These Kiehl's products were for guests' use when they stay at New Majestic Hotel [ At first I thought they were displayed by Kiehl's staff ... but NO NO.. they are part of the treats when one stay at New Majestic Hotel.. How thoughtful of the management of New Majestic Hotel to pamper their guests with Kiehl's products!! (",) ]

Towards the end of the party, there was a short presentation of our gift packs.. This was my very first time receiving a personalised gift pack because each of the bag was unique, it has got our own name stitched onto it, and even the note book was personalised with our own name.. (how sweet of Kiehl's team to even think of stitching our names onto the bags!) I really love the bag and the contents a lot.. Thank you so much Kiehl's team for preparing all these personalised gift bags full of goodies for each of us.

It was so nice of Kiehl's to give me a tube of the latest Ultra Daily UV Defense SPF50 PA+++ Sunscreen to try..

^ My Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV defense SPF50+++ sunscreen posing against the lovely handmade invitation card which I thought was printed when I received it at first glance.

^I have been using Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF50+++ sunscreen for the past 3 weeks..Its texture is really as light as feather ... It just melts into my skin effortlessly upon my skin, I do not even feel that there is another layer of lotion on my skin. There is also no greasy feeling since its oil free.

Gone were the days when sunscreens leave a whitish cast or give a thick feeling on our skin.. I must say this sunscreen does not have the SPF smell ( some sunscreen which I tried in the past, got a SPF smell which stay on even after I applied my makeup.. there is definitely no funny or awful smell for Kiehl's Ultra Light UV Defense SPF50+++ , because its fragrance free) I like the fact that it offers high protection yet comes in an ultra light texture that my skin welcome.  Another plus point is the tube is so cute and compact!

UVA- "A" for "Aging"

"Most Beautiful Eyes" By Kiehl's Contest

I had sent in a picture of my eyes in the "Most Beautiful Eyes" By Kiehl's Contest and I was super duper lucky to be selected as the top 5 entries.. which mean a chance to win at least $1k worth of Kiehl's products if my entry was the top 3 highest votes received.. Yes, need to vote!!

Kiehl's Private Tour & Treat

It was my privilege to be invited to Kiehl's Private Tour  & Treat at Kiehl's @ Plaza Singapura, on 8th March 2010. 

Now I know why its a Private Tour & Treat because its really a personalised and private tour & treat session. There were only 2 invited guests (Shilka and me)  for this session, the rest would be in other sessions.. Err. there really only 2 of us and accompanying us were 3 lovely staff (Eliz, Melissa and Zling) from Kiehl's. Food and drinks were even prepared specially for us (Before the session, Melissa even asked me if I was vegetarian, or if I have any food allergies so that she can make the necessary arrangement, how sweet and thoughtful!)

Eliz and Zling gave us a short introduction of the background of Kiehl's.. I had been to Kiehl's outlets several times to buy Kiehl's stuffs especially my favourite #1 lip balm...and it never occur to me that the displays that I saw in the outlets relate to the history of Kiehl's.. All these while, I thought the vintage motorcycles (Harvey Davidson), family photographs and pictures of fighter airplanes are just props to decorate the outlets... but no no.. they were actually the interests of Mr Aaron Morse who took over his family business, and changed Kiehl's focus from a full-service pharmacy to skincare and haircare products. Mr Aaron Morse was a pilot in the army during World War II, and owned a pharmacology degree.

Now I will learn to appreciate the decorations that are displayed at Kiehl's outlets.. I was told that all the Kiehl's outlets look similar be it our local Kiehl's outlets or New York's Kiehl's outlets.. how cool is that!

Next up, I was recommended to a range of Kiehl's products based on my skin concerns and type. I have sensitive combination skin, with dark circles, fine lines, open pores, acne, ..oppss... and dry skin too.. Zling said that my skin is quite dry too.. ( must be my bad habit of not liking to drink plain water - all these years, I drink like 1-2 cups a day! That is bad.. plus sleeping in air-conditioned room every night..I must try to drink more water everyday!!! )

Its really an interactive session, besides telling me the benefits and special ingredient(s) used in each product, Zling also shared many interesting beauty stuffs and tips with me...

That is not all... I got to choose $200 worth of Kiehl's products and bring home to use!!! (  I was very surprise that I got to choose my treats! At that moment, many products were in my mind, all the products that Zling recommended me felt very good when I tried them on earlier... I really had a hard hard time choosing.. but in the end, I chose these 3 - Acai Damage-Repairing Serum, Darkness Diminishing Activated Eye Treatment and Abyssine eye cream)

On top of all the products that I selected, I was also given a tube of Kiehl's latest Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF50 Sunblock and a lovely pouch (with pictures of my favourite #1 lip balm printed all over it)! ('',)
