Making My Own Icy Cold Beauty Popsicles

A couple of days back, I was shopping at Daiso and saw a cute pastel-coloured ice pop maker, bought it (an unintentional purchase though!) came home and played with it ....and  WoOLala... here I have it, my first Icy Cold Beauty Popsicle! - from fresh Orange Juice which is loaded with vitamins. Orange juice is known to contain a high percentage of Vitamin C, which is helpful in boosting the immune system. It also contains Folate, which plays a major role in the reproduction of new skin and blood cells, and can aid in the healing process.

This pure orange popsicle is healthy, low in calories, without added sugar or preservatives as compared to the mass produced ice cream sold at supermarkets.

Interested to make your own Beauty Popsicles too? Very simple to make and these are 2 things you will need...

1) $2 Ice Pop Maker (Reusable) from Daiso (You can also use plastic cups and ice cream sticks)

2) Your Preferred Choice Of Juice(s).. Besides Orange juice, you can use any juices you like or can think of - like cranberry juice, carrot juice, celery juice, mixed fruit juice, watermelon juice, strawberry juice, kiwi juice, apple juice, papaya milk, banana milk, tomato juice, lemon with honey...basically there are endless of choices for everyone. and besides juices, you can even add in small cubes of the fruit itself into the making...

Yes very easy to make without much stuffs needed...
Just 2 tips to share:

  • Try to fill the juice to the brim of each popsicle's compartment so that the frozen ice will sit nicely at the base of the plastic stick when you pull it out.

  • It may be a bit difficult to pull out the frozen ice from the compartment, try to move the stick in left-right movements to loosen the frozen ice before pulling it out. If its still difficult to pull the whole popsicle out from the compartment, pour water to the back of the maker (as shown in the above instructions guide) and try to pull the stick out again.. You should be able to get a nice popsicle shaped like an ice cream as shown in the picture.
Have fun making your own icy cold Beauty Popsicles for yourselves and your loved ones.. Ya, I think the kids will love them too..

I am thinking of making red bean and bandung popsicles next..

So what flavours of popsicles are you thinking of making?

Cuttlefish Craze

I quite like to eat cuttlefish, maybe its very chewy.. I can finish one pack of Dahfa cuttlefish at one shot..Dahfa cuttlefish also available in big slices, which is easier to eat, just take one whole piece and bite... So far the cheapest Dahfa cuttlefish I found in Singapore is above Bugis Hawker Centre (Albert Centre), where we can purchase dried goods at wholesale or cheaper price... (The newly renovated hawker centre besides Fu Lu Shou Complex, diagonally opposite OG Albert Complex.)  This is the hawker centre where Angel Horse Fish Soup can be found!

Despite this hawker centre being new as it just undergone renovation, its really crowded, so difficult to find seats during peak hours, tables and floors all full of used plates/bowls/utensils..nobody clearing up and very messy (even the ex temporary hawker centre seem better than the newly renovated one).. that I gave up eating there and went elsewhere to eat the other day.

Oh, the dahfa cuttlefish only cost $2.60 per pack.. Cheap right?

Fruits & Nuts Fushion And More Sun Dried Figs

Got these, some of my favourite snacks.. ( Nature's Wonders fruits & Nuts Fushion and Marks & Spencer Ginger Snaps)

These are the nuts and fruits found inside the bag ... All these while I have been eating this snack and like particularly the brown thingy on the most left bottom of the picture.. I dont know what it is called ... When I buy this packet of snacks, only a few of these are available..

Then just last week, when I passed by Hock Hua Medical Shop, I happened to find something like look the brown thingy found inside the Fruits & Nuts Fushion packs.. so I bought 500grams of these.. ( it cost $5.50) I asked the sales assistant what it is .. then he told me its called fig... So now, I can just go to Hock Hua to buy these figs ...

I wonder if eating too much of these is harmful... The sales asssistant said its used to treat sore throat, increase appetite ( ok, my appetite already super good so no wonder now my appetite even bigger..haha) .. and they can be used in cooking soups.. Oh well, for me I just treat them like snacks and eat them just like that...
