Normaderm Latest Tri-Activ Cleanser And New Formulas Cleansers

Recently I attended Vichy Bloggers' Event and received these new products from its Normaderm range. I am a fan of Vichy Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care Moisturiser so I was very happy that I can try out more products from the Normaderm range as it is meant for acne prone and sensitive skin like mine.

More information about  Normaderm Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care Moisturiser:

We were told that since 2003, 20 million units of Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care Moisturiser were sold worldwide!

If you were to give this moisturiser a try, you will know why so many million units were sold worldwide and why I love it so much!

Normaderm Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care Moisturiser  is definitely one of my Holy Grail moisturisers. I just love how it keeps my skin feeling ultra smooth and improve my skin imperfections. I had used up a tube and a bottle in the past 2 months. (Read my full review of the product here)

Next up, introducing the main highlight of the event from Vichy Normaderm range:

Tri-Activ Cleanser

Tri-Activ Cleanser is a 3 in 1 product, you can use it as a cleanser, an exfoliator and a mask.

Tri-Activ Cleanser comes in a simple tube form which makes it hassle-free to dispense the right amount of product.

So here is how you use the product:

How the product looks like:

I have been using this product for about a week, using it as a cleanser/scrub once a day and so far so good. Although it contains 25% clay, it does not leave my skin feeling tight or dry after each wash. In fact, I find my skin feel much smoother and softer. Thanks to the skin soothing agent and Vichy Thermal Spa water in the product!

So far I used it as a mask once, and I am happy with the result too. With my fingers, I squeeze an appropriate amount of product and apply onto my whole face (avoiding my lips and eye areas) and I just leave it on for 5 minutes before rinsing off with water. The creamy mask did not dry up like what traditional clay mask does, I am surprised that 5 minutes is all I need to have a clearer skin. If you are in a rush for time, just use this mask during your shower or while you are shampoo-ing your hair. ('',)

We were also introduced to these two New and Improved Formulas Cleansers..

I have yet to try out these 2 new formulas cleansers, as I am using the Tri-Activ Cleanser at the moment. Will try them soon.

Vichy Normaderm Range is suitable for oily sensitive skin which suffers from acne, clogged pores, redness and shine.

Do drop by any Vichy counters to have a complimentary Skin Diagnosis using a special smart heldhand device. In just 5 minutes, you can find out your sebum and hydration levels of your skin, what skin type you are and which Vichy range is more suitable for you.

*Here is a Vichy Beauty Advisor doing a skin diagnosis check using the smart heldhald device on Chantana.

Vichy's Thermal Spa Water and 80th Anniversary Celebration

Presenting my 2 Vichy Thermal Spa Water Spray.. Do you know the difference between these two bottles?

I am sure if you have visited Guardian or Watsons Stores recently, you would notice these atas-looking Vichy Spa Water Spray bottles (as shown above). These are specially launched to celebrate Vichy's 80th Anniversay, and yes they are Limited Edition and available in very limited quantity. (Only a total of 3000 sets for both the 50ml and 150ml duo packs are available islandwide!)

All Vichy Products are formulated with Vichy Thermal Spa Water, so what better way to commemorate this special occasion than to dress up its Star product - Vichy's Thermal Spa Water.

Last week, I attended Vichy Spa Water Workshop and got to know more about the product... and Vichy Spa Water is definitely not any normal water...It came from Lucas Spring which is located in the town of Vichy, in France. Thermal spa water from Lucas Spring has been recognised by the medical profession as having beneficial dermatological properties and it is this water that is used in all formulations for Vichy Products.

So what is so unique about Vichy Thermal Spa Water ?

Vichy Thermal Water is 100% pure and naturally rich with 15 rare minerals. It is clinically proven to have health benefits for your skin: regenerating, antioxidant, soothing and protective.  It is so unique, it cannot be reproduced by science. So powerful, it can reset your skin's health.

Reduces Skin Sensitivity
  1. Soothing  - Anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant
  2. Fortifying - Strengthens and protects skin tissue against ageing
  3. Regenerating - Stimulates cell renewal

Dermatological Standards:

-Allergy-Tested.
-Tested by dermatologists.
-Preservative-free.
-Fragrance-free.
-Paraben-free.

Enriched with more than 15 rare minerlas for healthy, beautiful skin...

The amazing part is there are many uses and benefits for Vichy Spa Water:

Personally, I am using Vichy Thermal Spa Water as a toner. I love how it hydrates and soothes my acne prone skin. I just spray directly onto my face, before patting my skin for better absorption of the product.

During the workshop, I also learnt that I can make use of Vichy Spa Water to treat my skin to a refreshing and pampering mask treatment.. here is how..

Easy right? These compressed cotton masks can be purchased from SaSa stores at $2 for 10 pieces. (available in full sheet version)

There are really many uses of Vichy Thermal Water.. it can be used to make sweets..
These sweets were nice!

Too bad, these big packets of Vichy sweets are not for sale.. I wonder if these are available for sale in France?

We were also introduced to Vichy's Aqualia Thermal range.

A range to provide 24-hours hydration for dehydrated sensitive skin.

Unique ingredients used in this range include:

  1. Vichy Thermal Spa Water - 100% pure and naturally rich with 15 rare minerals. It is clinically proven to have health benefits for your skin: regenerating, antioxidant, soothing and protective.
  2. Aquabioryl - Instantly diffuses the hydrating sensation to each and every layer of the epidermis.
  3. Hyaluronic Acid - Penetrates into skin and protects it from the harmful effects of external factors. It also creates a protective film on the skin's surface, which acts as a barrier against water loss from skin cells.
My experience using the New Paraben-Free Formula Aqualia Thermal Mask..

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Mask is a rinse off mask that envelops skin in a comforting and softening hydrating thermal bath. Besides the above mentioned 3 key ingredients, it also contains Shea Butter and Vitamin E to moisturise and soothe the skin.

This mask is very creamy and it spread onto my skin like a rich moisturiser. There is also a pretty nice scent detected. If your skin is allergy to fragrance, it is highly advisable to get a sample to test on your skin before you purchase the product.

The instructions as indicated on the packaging:
Apply a generous later on make-up free skin. Leave it for 10 minutes. Rinse or wipe off excess. Avoid the eye area.

Here are some pictures I took when I was using the mask...

The mask was easily dispensed from the tube, and I had applied 2 layers of products on my entire face, avoiding the eye areas. It left a cooling effect on my skin, without any stinging sensation. As shown in frame 2, the mask was still pastel-blue in colour upon application. However, 10 minutes later, the mask sort of dry up and turned transparent (frame 3), but I can still see and feel the product on my skin. I just rinsed thoroughly with water. From the pictures, there seem not much of a difference before and after using the mask, but I can feel the difference when I touch my skin thereafter! It instantly made my skin so smooth and supple.  I love the results so much that I used the mask thrice in a week. ('',)

I was also given the Aqualia Thermal Aqua Gel - a lightweight gel moisturiser but as I am still using Vichy Normaderm Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care Moisturiser, so I have not try the Aqua Gel moisturiser yet. (Will review after I have used the product)

A piece of good news to share!
We were also informed about an upcoming Vichy Spa Water contest in which the winner can win a
16GB Wi-fi iPad 2!

Review: Vichy Normaderm Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care

I have been very bothered over my acne blemished skin all along. I still have a few terrible acne scar marks on my right cheek, Err..and I also have to take care of the new ones that pop out pretty often..and that led me to purchase a tube of Vichy Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care in the hope that it can help improve my bad skin condition. (Ok, I have to admit I was tempted to try the new product after reading Vichy's Normaderm Advertisement that spread across 6 full pages on Her World May Issue! and after trying a mini sample of the product on my skin, I was sold on buying a tube despite having quite a number of moisturisers on hand!)

Its Ingredients and Benefits:

The Full Ingredients List of Vichy Normaderm Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care:

Prices: $19(30ml -trial tube)/
             $39(50ml)

Trying the product...

Vichy Normaderm Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care is a gel-cream emulsion that is lightweight and absorb very fast into skin, leaving skin super smooth with a matte and powdery finish. I do not even need to wait for a few seconds for the product to be absorbed into my skin,it just absorbed instantly! What I really like it is non oily and non sticky, yet made my skin so soft and smooth. I have been using it for more than 2 weeks and I am glad to say that it is working for my skin. It helps to control my sebum production and keep my skin shine free. Nowadays my skin has sort of calm down, without much breakouts.. (Touch Wood!) Thanks to the Hydra-Peel Technology, my acne scar marks has also lightened significantly.

However, it could also be due to my new added miracle all-in-one serum in my skincare regime last week -Lancome Visionnaire before applying Vichy Normaderm Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care.

Anyway, I just have to say I am loving the after-feel and result after using Vichy Normaderm Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care moisturiser.. Super smooth and soft skin! Loving my new found Holy Grail Moisturiser!!!

I will be continue to use this duo in this skincare regime. Hopefully my terrible acne scar marks will be totally gone soon, and no more acne breakouts from now on.. *Fingers crossed*

Actually Vichy Normaderm range has a number of products from cleansers, toners, to treatments, and I am just using its moisturiser (daily care) .. and the result is not bad..Will the result be even better if I have used the full range of Vichy Normaderm products? I am actually interested to try out the night moisturiser -Night Chrono-Active Anti-Imperfection Care and the pimple cream - Active Anti-Perfection Concentrate...

Do check out Vichy Normaderm range next time you are at Watsons or Guardian, and try out this Normaderm Tri-Activ Anti-Imperfection Hydrating Care Moisturiser on the back of your hand/wrist.. and be amazed by its lightweight and ultra smooth feel!! By the way, I think almost all the outlets do not carry the 30ml version anymore, if you are interested, can try to check out the Guardian located at Plaza Singapura. I saw there were 2-3 boxes left just a few days back.

Vichy Essentielles Giveaway (Winner Announced)

Remember the Vichy's Facebook Essentielles Giveaway in which you were asked to comment why you would like to win a set of the lovely looking products...

First of all, thank you each and everyone who had participated through my blog ..really appreciate your time and effort taken to enter the giveaway...

I had a hard time to choose the winner, and here is the entry chosen:

I would like to win a set of Vichy Essentielles products because these products look promising- paraben free, hypoallergenic, while they hydrate and protect skin, even sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin and all along, I have to visit the... doctor to get prescribed skincare products, it will be best if I can find products that work on my sensitive skin yet won't burn a hole in my pocket. I hope Vichy Essentielles will work for me so that next time I can just go to any Guardian and Watsons to replenish the products instead of visiting the doctor and spend a bomb on her products.

I hear you and understand the trouble that you have to go through to get specific skincare products specially from your doctor.. I hope you will try out Vichy Essentielles range of products (meant for sensitive skin) and that they will work for you so that next time you can just pick up your Vichy skincare products easily from Watsons/Guardian, Unity and Nishino pharmacies, or any major hospital pharmacies. Vichy products are very affordable, definitely can help you save money in the long run.

Once again,a big thank you to all for supporting my blog and joining the giveaway.. Please don't give up if you did not win in this giveway, because there will be more giveaways and more chances to win coming up.... Stay tuned!

Vichy Essentielles Range - Back To Basics

Do these products look very familiar to you? I am sure some of you must have seen them while you are shopping in Guardian or Watsons in the past few months.

The growing trend of "Back to Essentials" consumers has led to the birth of Essentielles under Vichy Laboratoires face and body range.

Essentielles  is a BASIC face and body care range that focuses on skin's essential daily needs, without targeting a particular skin problem, as they hydrate, protect and reveal skin's radiance. These products are tested on sensitve skin under dermatological control.

So can you make a guess what is the key ingredient in Essentielles products?

Hint: The main focus on the packaging!

Yes, that is the rose (known as the French Rose) ..and this is also how one differentiate the Essentielles range from the rest under the Vichy family.. The French Rose ( Rosa Gallica extract) has always been used by pharmacists for its soothing, protecting and hydrating properties. It allows the skin to reveal its glow. Researchers have found out that Rose contains Polyphenols and in nature, these proteins protect against external aggressions and ensure their freshness in the long term. All these products are paraben free and hypoallergenic.

Other active ingredients include:
  • Glycerin- A moisture keeping agent capable of retaining high quantities of water within the stratum corneum, ensuring the hydration of the skin's outer layers.
  • Shea Butter - (in facial emulsion and body cream-milk) soothes and protects against external aggressions.
  • Vichy Thermal Spa Water - a natural active ingredient that soothes and fortifies the skin day after day.

You must be wondering why I mentioned Essentielles is a basic face and body care range??

Because.. there are only 2 products for skin care and 2 products for body care under this range. Can say it is really a fuss-free skincare regime for people who do not have any particular skin problem in concern.

The 2 Essentielles products for the face:

- Essentielles Foaming Cleanser

Description: A foaming cream to gently cleanses and removes makeup. Hypoallergenic and paraben-free.

Full ingredients list for Essentielles foaming cleanser:

Size: 100ml tube
Price: $11.90
How to use: Apply onto the face every morning and/or evening & rinse off.
My thoughts after trying the product for a week:

This cleanser is one of the foamest cleansers I have ever used. See the amount of foam that I can whip up using the small amount of product and some water.

No joke right! See how foamy the cleanser is when I am it on my face. This product is one of my favourite products in the Essentielles range. I love how creamy and foamy the cleanser lathers up, and how it makes my skin clean and soft after each wash. No tight after-wash feeling too. It is mentioned that i can remove makeup, even eye makeup and I tested it on my eyes, and see if it could remove my mascara and eyeshadow.. (Ok, I have to admit I do not use cleanser on my eye area but for this review, I gave it a try because I was also curious to see if it really can double up as an eye makeup remover as well)

It can remove my eye shadow. However, when I tried using the product on my eyelashes, and used a cotton pad to remove the waterproof mascara on my lashes.. it actually stung my eyes, quite painful when I opened my eyes although I saw some traces of mascara being removed.(not fully) So conclusion is it can be used to remove light eye makeup but not waterproof mascara, it is better to avoid using the product near the lash lines. I will still stick to using a separate eye makeup remover when removing my eye makeup.

Scent wise, it is not really the typical rose scent, it smells more like a nice light flowery scent to me. I am really loving and enjoying using this cleanser! Did I mention that it tone our skin as well? (That is why there is no toner in this range!) Must try this product if you have a chance!

- Essentielles Facial Emulsion

Description: This emulsion for normal to combination skin soothes the skin with Polyphenols, it also contains Allantoin that has repairing, softening, moisturizing and calming properties for damaged or fragile skin.

Full ingredients list for Essentielles facial emulsion:
Size: 50ml tube
Price: $16.90
How to use: Apply onto the face every morning and/or evening after cleansing your skin.

My thoughts after trying the product for a week:

Essentielles Facial Emulsion is a lightweight emulsion (moisturiser) that is quickly absorbed leaving my skin smooth to the touch. It gives a non-sticky finish. This product helps to moisturise and calm my skin as I can feel that my skin is supple even after a few hours upon application. (I guess it must be the effects of the French rose and Vichy Thermal Spa Water used in the product)  Similiarly to its cleanser, I do not smell the typical rose scent in this emulsion. It has a flowery, light and fresh fragrance. No allergy or rashes found on my rather sensitive skin after using both products twice a day for 7 consecutive days.

The 2 Essentielles products for the body:

- Essentielles Softening Shower

Description: This shower gel cleanses, softens and protects the skin with a flowery, light and fresh fragrance. (At first I thought this was the toner for the face, but only yesterday I found out that this is a shower gel. LOL)

Full ingredients list for Essentielles Softening Shower:
Size: 200ml bottle
Price: $12.90
How to use: Lather with water and apply onto the body every morning and/or evening before rinsing off with water.

My thoughts after trying the product for a week:
I love this body shower gel. It makes my skin smells nice and soft after my shower. The nice flowery scent lingers on my skin for a while, because when I am out of my shower I can still smell the subtle nice flowery fragrance on my skin. I also love the packaging of this product; the simple compact transparent bottle with the pink shower gel in it, adds a feminine touch. Definitely one of the prettiest shower gels one can find in Guardian/Watsons.

- Essentielles Body Cream-Milk

Description: This body moisturizer hydrates, protects and reveals skin's glow. It also nourishes and soothes the skin as it contains Shea Butter.

Full ingredients list for Essentielles Body Cream-Milk:
Size: 200ml bottle
Price: $14.90
How to use: Apply onto the body every morning and/or evening. Do not apply product on the face.

My thoughts after trying the products for a week:
I have to say I rarely use body cream as I find it a hassle to use one, plus I do not like the greasy after-feel on my whole body. However, for this review, I started to use this body cream after my evening shower in the past week. Oh boy, I am hooked to this product. The lightweight formula is a joy to use, it get absorbed into my skin upon application, and leaves my skin baby soft without the greasy after feel. (It can get quite irritated if one apply body care product after a nice shower, and still feel greasy all over the body, isn't it?)

Overall, I do like these Vichy Essentielles products because they work for me, without giving me allergy. Although Vichy Essentielles skin care contains 2 products targetted for people without any major skin concerns, I would suggest to add in an eye cream/gel (to hydrate our eye areas) plus a sunblock (to use after face emulsion during the day) to protect against the harmful UV rays, and it would be more or less a complete skin care regime, since the foaming cleanser tones our skin as well.

Vichy Essentielles body care products also work great, the nice light flowery scent certainly calms one's mind after a long day at work, the duo leave my skin feeling soft and moisturised.

The best part these products are paraben free, hypoallergic and infused with Vichy thermal spa water! And they are really very affordable! Do check them out next time you see these lovely looking Essentielles products!
